There is no single best egg. Ask which egg you can reach, what its timer says, and what eggs from that height paid in a recorded run. Multipliers from x3 to x15 appeared. It is not settled whether a placement figure is income per tick or a one-time value.

Money. Climb as high as Speed and energy allow, then take the best label you can still bring home. One player skipped a snake for a higher-Radiant fox. The 300B golden dragon had a long timer and x14 active. The 8-hour fox showed 47B.
Repeat trips. If Radiant is too slow, Eternal was the tested switch. The same player also said Radiant can hatch fast while Vassal and Royal take a long time.
Early saves. Stay in reach. The 40-second winter egg at 280,000 beat low golden eggs at a few hundred, inside that save's own scale.
A climb is about a minute. Near the summit a 5-minute window allowed about 2–3 climbs. Eggs vanish if you hesitate. Labels fail: legendary became a dog, and an expected nine-tailed fox hatched with five tails.
